Common questions

What does the CDM/SSIP Readiness Checker actually test?
It checks the practical things that decide whether you win and safely deliver construction work: your SSIP accreditation, your RAMS, your CDM duty-holder roles, your competence records, and your F10 and pre-construction processes. It flags gaps before a client or auditor finds them.
Is this only for big contractors?
No. Small and medium contractors are exactly who it helps, because they are the ones most often asked to prove compliance they have never had time to formalise. The questions scale to your size.
I'm not sure how to answer some questions. Does that matter?
A 'not sure' is a useful answer. It usually points to the same gap a client would spot. The report treats it as an amber flag and tells you what to confirm.
Does a red result mean I'm breaking the law?
Not necessarily. It means there is a gap worth closing before it costs you a contract or fails an audit. Some reds are legal duties under CDM 2015; others are commercial requirements. The report makes the difference clear.
